The NYAC is a hotbed of history. Founded in 1868, the club was started “in order to bring structure to the nascent world of amateur sport.” It has become one of America’s most successful producers of athletes, with 248 Olympic medal winners walking through the doors.

On Saturday, it could well add a two weight world champion to it’s long list of gold winners.
