Last year’s UFC 202 main event between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz was one of the fights of the year.
The 25-minute affair last August was pure sporting drama. McGregor seized the initiative early on, sending Diaz to the canvas on several occasions before the Californian steadied himself in the third round and began upping the tempo. Ultimately the Irishman would win a majority decision after the clocked ticked down but both fighters emerged from the scrap with their reputations considerably enhanced.
And now, as we edge closer to the first anniversary of one of the UFC’s most famous fights in recent times, new footage continues to emerge from the historic brawl. John Kavanagh shared a video on social media of the advice his provided to his fighter as he guided McGregor throughout the encounter — and it’s a fascinating watch.
