Song Yadong is a dangerous man.

The Chinese, a veteran of the Team Alpha Male stable in Sacramento, California, has been bubbling under at 135-pounds in recent bouts, winning five of his past seven but dropping high profile showdowns with Petr Yan (in his most recent fight last March) and Cory Sandhagen (via corner stoppage).

This Saturday night, ‘The Kung Fu Kid’ will seek to re-establish his bantamweight contendership credentials when he takes on the former two-division champion Henry Cejudo — who has lost two straight in the cage since ending a three year hiatus in 2023.

Song, who is still just 27, could break into the top five at 135 if he can engineer a win against the veteran Cejudo — and if he puts on the type of performance that bested Ricky Simon back in April 2023, there might just be a new player in the hunt for Merab Dvalishvili’s championship.

Check out Song’s performance against Simon below.
