UFC legend Georges St-Pierre has hailed middleweight champion Israel Adesanya’s near-flawless performances inside the Octagon.

The retired former two-division champion St-Pierre is heralded by most as among the best athletes to ever set foot inside a UFC cage but says that Adesanya’s recent performances in the middleweight division have signposted him as “the perfect fighter”.

“He’s amazing. He’s a perfect fighter,” St-Pierre told ESPN. “We’re in the entertainment business, and our job is to entertain the audience, and he’s doing it very, very well.”

It is difficult to argue that point. Adesanya has risen to an impressive 20-0 (8-0 UFC) since making his debut with the organisation in February 2018, where he most recently underscored his 185-pound dominance with a dominant performance against the previously undefeated Paulo Costa in his last title fight in September.

Since then, Adesanya has engaged in a very public war of words with former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones which produced rumours that the two will one day fight each other — despite being currently separated by two weight classes.

Regardless of what is next for ‘The Last Stylebender’, St-Pierre says that he likes what he sees — and that is certainly high praise from one of the best fighters to ever compete in mixed martial arts.
