It is sometimes said that it takes 10,000 hours of practice until mastery of a field is achieved. The same could be said of jiu-jitsu.

The latest episode of TheMacLife.com video series shows Conor McGregor hard at work on the mats of SBG Ireland in preparation for a date with history in Madison Square Garden on Nov. 12. And it’s only hard work when the likes of John Kavanagh and recent Polaris winner Dillon Danis are your training partners.

All proceedings take place under the watchful eye of Coach Kavanagh, the man who guided Conor McGregor from the teenager who first walked into the gym to the brink of history those 10,000 hours have pushed him to.

Paddy Holohan is another who has put in his fair share of hours in SBG under Kavanagh. As someone who has seen Conor McGregor evolve on these very mats from day one, ‘The Hooligan’ knows what’s in store at UFC 205.

His thoughts on the main event in New York City are simple, as he says to the MacLife team.

“I wouldn’t want to be on Eddie Alvarez’s side of the cage, that’s for sure.”
