McGregor, the UFC’s reigning featherweight champion, will challenge defending lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in the headlining bout at UFC 205.
The event, which will take place at the iconic Madison Square Garden, will be the UFC’s first ever show in New York City after the ban on professional mixed martial arts in the state of New York was lifted earlier this year.
