It appears there’s a date in mind for the boxing match between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather.

News has emerged that Mayweather Promotions are planning to request August 26 from the Nevada State Athletic Commission to be set as fight night. ESPN first reported the news.

If confirmed, the fight would take place three weeks earlier than the previously targeted date of September 16. As of yet, negotiations for the bout are still ongoing, but should terms be agreed it should be just a formality before the NSAC agree to the proposed date.

A meeting between the two men will to be one of the biggest fights of all time, with the duo inarguably the most well known in their respective sports.
