Khamzat Chimaev once said that Ikram Aliskerov was the best fighter he had ever fought, in or out of the UFC.

This past summer, Robert Whittaker, who welcomes Chimaev back to the Octagon in Abu Dhabi at next weekend’s UFC 308 event, needed less than two minutes to knock out the former four-time Combat Sambo world champion, snapping Aliskerov’s seven-fight win streak and becoming the only other man besides ‘Borz’ to hold a mixed martial arts win over him.

Next Saturday night, former UFC middleweight champion Whittaker will look to become the first fighter to ever defeat Chimaev in the cage when the two clash with 185-pound title contention on the line — and if Whittaker is able to repeat the type of performance he showed in his last fight with Aliskerov, who is to say he can’t?
