Since he entered the UFC in late 2020, the Georgian-Spaniard Ilia Topuria has highlighted himself as one to watch at 145-pounds.

The 26-year-old is a perfect 5-0 in his UFC (13-0 overall), with each of his past four fights in the Octagon being finished inside the distance as he scored successive knockouts against Ryan Hall, Jai Herbert and Damon Jackson. But it was Topuria’s most recent fight in December against Bryce Mitchell, who was then also an undefeated featherweight fighter, which has made much of the combat sports press sit up and take notice after he forced a tap from a second-round arm triangle choke against Mitchell, a fighter very much known for his prowess on the ground.

Topuria takes on his maiden UFC main event fight against Josh Emmett in Florida this weekend, and you can watch the video below for a reminder of exactly what ‘El Matador’ brings with him to the cage.
