In his upcoming bout with former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman at UFC 210, Gegard Mousasi finally has the type of high profile bout against a legitimate contender that fans of the Iranian-born Dutchman have been clamouring for.

Winner of six of his last seven bouts (and with that sole loss to Uriah Hall thoroughly avenged in Belfast last November), Mousasi will stake a solid claim for title contention with a win against the American standout in Buffalo on April 10th. With current titleholder Michael Bisping scheduled to face Georges St-Pierre for the belt at a date yet to be determined, as well as the likes of Yoel Romero and Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza having more-than-justifiable arguments for a championship bout of their own, Mousasi can jump the line with victory — though in Weidman, he faces a fighter on a two fight skid with his back well and truly up against the wall.

Mousasi, though, possesses all the necessary attributes to cause trouble for anybody — as Thiago Santos found out for himself last July at UFC 200.
