Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko likely couldn’t have picked a more spectacular venue for the third fight in their series.
At this weekend’s UFC 306 (or Riyadh Season Noche UFC for branding purposes), the two standout female flyweights on the planet will fight for a third time — on this occasion inside the Las Vegas Sphere — after two previous bouts saw a submission win for Mexico’s Grasso and a split draw in their last battle almost exactly a year ago.
The trilogy bout will serve as one of the featured fights at the much-hyped Sphere card, which reports indicate has operational costs north of $16 million ahead of an event that Dana White vows will be the most spectacular in the organisation’s three-decade history.
And if their third fight is anything like their last two, it will live up to the billing. Check out Grasso and Shevchenko’s razor-close split draw from a year ago below.
