Last November, Alex Volkanovski was among the first to console his occasional training partner Israel Adesanya backstage in Madison Square Garden when he lost his world title to Alex Pereira. 

On Saturday night (or perhaps Sunday morning in Australia) Volkanovski could hardly contain his glee at Adesanya’s stunning second-round finish of his Brazilian rival, as shown on his personal YouTube channel.

It has become something of a tradition of Adesanya to film his live reactions to certain UFC fight while watching at home and upload them to his YouTube channel — and Volkanovski, who boasts a sizeable YouTube following of his own in no small part down to his ‘Cooking with Volk’ series, returned the favour with a neatly-produced clip released online in the hours after the UFC 287 headliner. And we’re sure that Adesanya will return the favour when Volkanovski defends his UFC featherweight world title against Yair Rodriguez at UFC 290 in July.
