It remains to be seen if mixed martial arts will ever be represented in the Olympics, but one of the sport’s finest competitors has made her mark on this year’s Winter Games from Pyeongchang County, South Korea.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk, the former UFC women’s strawweight champion, was tasked with being among the official torch carriers for the games, which begin on February 9th.

Jedrzejczyk is considered one of the most dominant female fighters in the sport’s history. After compiling a perfect 7-0 start to her UFC career (14-o as a pro), including 5 successful title defenses, the Pole lost her title to Rose Namajunas at UFC 217 in New York last November.

Posting on Instagram, Jedrzejczyk wrote that she was “so proud and honoured” to have carried the Olympic flame.
