Marlon Moraes just leveled Aljamain Sterling.

The former WSOF bantamweight champion met Sterling at UFC Fresno, after replacing the previously scheduled Rani Yahya. He didn’t waste his opportunity. After a rapid opening stanza, Moraes got Sterling to the floor, who stood up to be drilled with a huge knee to the head.

It immediately goes down as a knockout of the year contender.

“I wanna be active, I want to fight again,” Moraes said in his post-fight interview. “I fought one month ago, Sean Shelby gave me the opportunity to be here, and I’m here. … I wish Aljamain a speedy recovery. We fight in here, we want to win, but I don’t want to see my opponents hurt you know.

“Man, to watch [the UFC] on the TV, it’s something. But to be here, to feel this Octagon, this cage, it’s unbelievable. I think I’m starting to like being here, and I’m going to give some trouble to these 135-ers.”
