The UFC’s bantamweight division has just added another top talent to its ranks after the promotion confirmed the signing of World Series of Fighting bantamweight champion Marlon Moraes.

Moraes (18-4-1) was undefeated in his 11 fights with WSOF, defeating the likes of Miguel Torres and Josh Hill along the way, and was victorious is six championship bouts during that run. The 28-year-old will debut for the UFC opposite Raphael Assuncao at UFC 212 in Rio de Janeiro in June.

In 3rd ranked Assuncao, the 28-year-old Moraes will face the toughest test of his career if he is to extend his near six year long winning streak.

The signing of Moraes is a considerable boost to the division currently ruled by Team Alpha Male’s Cody Gardbrandt. Former BAMMA bantamweight and featherweight champion Tom Duquesnoy is another blue chip prospect at 135-pounds who has been snapped up by the UFC and the Frenchman will make his debut against Patrick Williams at Saturday’s UFC on Fox 24.

Elsewhere on the UFC 212 card on which Moraes will make his UFC debut, José Aldo and Max Holloway will clash for the promotion’s 145-pound title, Anderson Silva will face an opponent yet to be named and Claudia Gadelha will face Karolina Kowalkiewicz.
