‘The Bearjew’ Paul Craig will fight in front of his countrymen on a rebound from his first career loss suffered at the hands of Tyson Pedro last month when he faces Khalil Rountree in a light heavyweight bout scheduled for the UFC’s return to Glasgow, Scotland on July 16th.

Speaking of the booking, Craig said: “I have never fought in my home country as a professional so to be added to the card in Glasgow, 10 minutes away from my home is incredible. Hearing the Scottish fans cheering for me as I walk out into the arena on July 16 will be spectacular.

“I hope MMA in Scotland and across the UK continues to grow. The sport here is getting more and more exposure, and I want more athletes from Scotland to get the recognition they deserve.”

Elsewhere on the card, it was announced by the UFC today that the Scotland card will also feature Wales’ Jack Marshman taking on Canadian Ryan Janes in a middleweight bout, while heavyweights Mark Godbeer and Justin Willis will also collide on the card.

The UFC’s return to Glasgow will come almost two years to the day since their most recent (and first ever) trip to the same city. That time around the card was headlined by Michael Bisping vs. Thales Leites and also featured the likes of Rob Whiteford, Joseph Duffy and Paddy Holohan.

Further bouts, including the main event, are expected to be announced in the coming days and weeks.
