The Korean Zombie, Chan Sung Jung, has given his take on the result of Saturday’s UFC 251 featherweight title bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway — and has added to the growing discontent about the judging of the fight which awarded the victory to the Australian via split decision.

Holloway enjoyed a quick start to the fight, dropping the champion in both of the first two rounds but Volkanovski rallied in the third and was eventually awarded the victory for his efforts in the championship rounds.

However, many observers took umbrage with the result of the contest and suggested that Holloway was the clear and deserving winner of the fight.

This is an opinion shared by the Korean Zombie, who offered his take on the matter on social media.

“I am responding to yesterday’s title match against Volkanovski and Holloway. To be honest, it is shameful that Volkanovski is a champion of my weight class,” he wrote. Give him to me then you don’t need to worry about the judges decision.

“As you know, I won’t let the judges decide the result of my fight. I will finish him at the title match and that is what UFC fans want to watch.”

The South Korean fighter is among a list of contenders at 145-pounds who will now be chasing a title bout of their own having placed himself firmly into contention with a first round stoppage win against Frankie Edgar in December. Other fighters who thought to be in the title conversation are the likes of Zabit Magomedsharipov and potentially the winner of this week’s fight between Dan Ige and Calvin Kattar.
