SBG Ireland has produced some potent talent in recent years and the latest of these looking to make an impact on the world stage is Wexford’s Brian ‘The Pikeman’ Moore.

After making his Bellator debut last December against near 50-fight veteran Daniel Weichel, Moore scored his first win on the big show earlier this month when he stopped Michael Horejsi in the second frame. The finish, which came by second round TKO, followed a dominant first frame for the Irishman which most cageside observers scored as a 10-8 round in Moore’s favour.

Writing on Facebook, Moore says that the rest of the Bellator featherweight division should be warned that he intends to one day claim the promotion’s 145-pound title.

Writing on Facebook, he said: “I’m coming for that Bellator featherweight strap. I will lift the tricolor high in one hand and the gold belt in the other.”

Speaking after the fight, Moore positioned himself for a spot on Bellator’s upcoming Madison Square Garden show but regardless of whether or not Scott Coker and the Bellator matchmakers find a slot on their highest ever profile card for him, you suspect that Brian Moore’s journey in the mixed martial arts big leagues is just beginning.
