Paige VanZant’s year-long hiatus from the octagon will end when the UFC travels to the Brazilian capital on March 14, it has been announced by the promotion.
VanZant, who defeated Rachael Ostovich in his last Octagon outing in January, has suffered a litany of injuries in recent times — particularly to her arm, which has needed surgeries to repair a break which had healed slower than expected. However, with that now behind her it has been confirmed that she will face the 8-1 Amanda Ribas at the March 14 card in Brasilia. Ribas recently handed Mackenzie Dern the first defeat of her professional career.
In addition to that, UFC light heavyweight contender Johnny Walker will make his return after taking his first UFC ‘L’ against Corey Anderson last month, where he will face the very dangerous Nikita Krylov at the same event in Brazil.

The same event will also feature a middleweight contest between Brad Tavares and Antonio Carlos Junior while a flyweight matchup between Jussier Formiga and Brandon Moreno is also scheduled in a bout which could have potential ramifications for the newly-vacant 125 pound strap.
