Bellator MMA have made a significant investment in Ireland’s ‘Strabanimal’, James Gallagher.
Just weeks removed from the fifth win of his Bellator career, a first-round rear naked choke victory against America’s Steven Graham in the main event of Bellator Dublin last month, Scott Coker’s organisation have signalled that Gallagher will be a prime piece of their jigsaw going forward by tying the Irishman down for six further fights.
“Absolutely delighted to have signed a new 6 fight deal with Bellator MMA,” Gallagher announced on Instagram.
“This one will not only help change my life but also my family as they’re the ones who got me to this point. Thank you @mikekogan @bellatormma @paradigmsm @coach_kavanagh @thenotoriousmma would not be possible without yous all! Next fight be announced Monday. necks and cheques, life changing shit! Welcome to the jimmy show!”
The interesting tidbit there, apart from the contract news of course, is that Gallagher’s next fight will be announced this coming Monday. The date and location as of now remains a mystery but Bellator’s UK event in May is a good bet, as is the upcoming return to Dublin in September. Watch this space.
