Michael ‘Venom’ Page, one of the most popular MMA fighters in the United Kingdom, will make his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut in London in August, it has been announced.

‘MVP’, a former Bellator world title challenger, will take on former UFC welterweight Mike Perry at BKFC 27 on August 20 in London after the bare knuckle promotion struck a deal with Bellator to allow Page to compete outside of the organisation. This follows previous permissions handed out to Page to allow him to take on professional boxing matches.

Bellator and its president Scott Coker have been open to cross promotion bouts, most recently involving heavyweight great Fedor Emelianenko who is seeking an opponent for his retirement fight later this year.

Page will come into the fight on the back of a controversial split decision defeat to Logan Storley in a fight for the Bellator interim welterweight title.

Perry, meanwhile, was successful in his BKFC debut in February where he defeated former ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ cast-member Julian Lane.

‘MVP’ has competed in two pro boxing matches and one kickboxing bout, winning all three — but will be making his bare knuckle bow at the event in his hometown later this summer.
