Tyson Fury will have his hands full in a few weeks when he enters the ring with Deontay Wilder for a third time — but before that, he will have his eyes on another combat sports trilogy.

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier meet in their trilogy bout this weekend in Las Vegas in what will be the UFC 264 headliner. The score between the two rivals currently stands at one apiece, with McGregor easing past Poirier in less than two minutes in their first meeting at UFC 178 in 2014 only for Poirier to eek out a measure of revenge this past January on ‘Fight Island’.

And ahead of the biggest trilogy bout in the history of mixed martial arts, Fury knows who he is putting his money on.

“Hey, it’s Tyson Fury AKA ‘The Gypsy King’. I’m here at the UFC Performance Center in Las Vegas, checking it out. Great facility, I have the opportunity of going downstairs and using the ice bath and sauna and stuff, it’s an absolutely fantastic experience.

“My prediction for the McGregor-Poirier fight is that I think McGregor will win this time. I think he’s been training hard and he’s got it all to prove. It’ll be a great event and one to watch, tune in.”
