Matt Hughes has been airlifted to hospital after a truck he was driving in collided with a train.

Currently, not much more is known about the incident, but UFC president Dana White confirmed with ESPN that Hughes had been hurt. “Apparently he has head trauma,” White said. “His family is traveling to him now.”

According to the police investigating, Hughes came to “railroad grade crossing marked with crossbucks” in his truck, before crossing the tracks “directly in front of a train and the train struck the passenger side of the truck.”

Matt Hughes is a UFC Hall of Famer and one of the greatest welterweights in the sport. Recently, he had been discussing a comeback.
