By now it’s well known that Sage Northcutt might be one of the most polite mixed martial artists in UFC history. The young Texan has made a name for himself for always using formal titles, never not saying thank you and generally being an all round sweetheart.

So, naturally, the proper way to call for a contest with him is to follow suit and do it nicely. Certainly, that seems to be the way Marc Diakiese is going about things.

The Englishman from Doncaster took to his social media to challenge Northcutt to a fight in the wake of Northcutt’s recent win in Austin last Sunday. But while most call outs are usually done with either ill intentions or a quiet respect, Diakiese made sure to make the challenge in Northcutt’s signature style.

“Hello Mr. Sage Northcutt, super exciting win at the weekend,” Diakiese wrote. “I’d be super excited to share the Octagon with you, on international fight week?! Super warm regards, Mr. Diakiese.”

While it could make for an interesting clash of styles, it might not be on the cards. With his win over Thibault Gouti in Austin, Northcutt has two back to back wins in the books, while Diakiese has had the reverse fortunes, and is currently on a two fight losing streak.
