UFC president Dana White might have been skeptical that Jon Jones and Francis Ngannou really wanted to fight past their disagreements on social media, but the two men are certainly doing their part to show otherwise.

Yesterday, the two fired a couple of shots at the other online, with Ngannou kicking things off with a reference to Jones’ famous off-air insult to rival Daniel Cormier, asking him “Are you still there?”

Shortly after, Jones responded to the tweet, knocking Ngannou’s performance against Derrick Lewis (considered one of the most disappointing contests in recent history) and telling him his fearsome reputation wasn’t working against the light heavyweight champion.

“First you can save the rest of your tongue pictures for your other homies and yes I’m right here, just waking up from watching that Derek Lewis fight again. You ain’t scaring nobody, I saw your heart. You’re a big old mouse, I’ll expose you,” Jones wrote.

Jones and Ngannou don’t have any glaringly obvious other options right now, and the two meeting in the Octagon would no doubt garner huge attention. That being said, the pair have made it clear they always want to garner a huge paycheck.

Update:

This morning, Ngannou fired back with his own insult and reference to an underwhelming Jones fight.
