Israel Adesanya is going to plow ahead in 2018 with momentum on his side, having been scheduled against Marvin Vettori for the upcoming UFC on FOX 29 on April 14.

It’ll be Adesanya’s second under the UFC banner, and his second of this year. The New Zealander made his debut at UFC 221 in a winning effort, before garnering plenty of attention for a bright post-fight promo.

Earlier this week, Adesanya had hinted he’d seen Vettori compete in his last fight, and predicted he’d end up in the cage against him eventually.

“I just finished training right now,” Adesanya said. “I’m feeling great. The UFC offered me these two guys — everything’s weird, man. Even the fight I just had [against Rob Wilkinson], I knew I was going to fight him. Even though seven other guys turned it down, I knew I was going to fight him. And then I saw a guy at UFC 219 and thought, ‘Hmm. I wanna fight this guy’, and the offer kind of came through today. I have an idea of who I want to fight. … It’s a decent jump up, but I’m not sure if it’s top 15. I don’t know his name, I know his face — but that’s need to know basis for now.”
