Henry Cejudo has announced his retirement from mixed martial arts.
Moments after defeating Dominick Cruz via TKO in the second round of their UFC 249 co-main event fight, Cejudo made the stunning announcement to UFC commentator Joe Rogan, revealing his interest in starting a family.
“Since I was 11 years old I sacrificed to get where I am today, and I’m not going to let anyone take that away from me. I’m retiring from MMA. … Triple C is out. You don’t have to hear my ass no more,” Cejudo said.
If this is truly the end of Cejudo’s career, he leaves the sport with an already impressive legacy, having defeated Cruz, Demetrious Johnson and T.J. Dillashaw, as well as winning two world titles at two different weights.
