It was the first time Ronda Rousey walked into the Octagon without the UFC bantamweight title around her waist, and it was the last time she’d step foot in it at all.

At UFC 207 in December of 2016, Rousey returned from a year absence after a devastating loss to Holly Holm. Before the event Rousey, at one point seen as unbeatable, raised eyebrows with a media blackout, bringing plenty of questions about her mental state and drive entering the cage.

In the end, those questions were rendered obsolete by the champion Amanda Nunes. Nunes unloaded on Rousey from the off, defeating her in the first round after a heavy barrage of strikes.
