After fisticuffs when they came face to face at a recent press conference, rival lightweight fighters Kevin Lee and Michael Chiesa will have a chance to settle their score (as well as make a serious dent in the UFC’s 155-pound rankings) when they meet in the main event of UFC Fight Night 112 in Oklahoma this Saturday.
The 24-year-old Lee has amassed a healthy 8-2 UFC record (15-2 overall) since debuting with the organisation three years ago last February but his last three fights — finishes of Francisco Trinaldo, Magomed Mustafaev and Jake Matthews — have shown that the Michigan native is starting to come into his prime.
A powerful wrestler by trade, Lee has also spent considerable time upgrading his hands at Floyd Mayweather’s gym and will no doubt be eager to show off the fruits of his labour when he makes the walk to face Chiesa this weekend but, as he showed James Moontasri a couple of summers ago, his grappling game can be a match for anyone.
