James Gallagher is not intimidated by the spotlight.

At 20-years old, the young Irishman finds himself in another featured bout on a Bellator card in his home country, with fans set to travel from miles around to watch him fight in the SSE Arena, Belfast. While that amount of pressure could defeat many up and comers, Gallagher instead thrives with the attention.

At Bellator 173 this Friday, Gallagher will be facing Kirill Medvedovsky in his latest showing for the promotion. Should he win, that would make six straight victories, and combine that with a loyal fan base, discussions of a title shot at Bellator gold will no doubt be on the horizon.

Speaking exclusively to TheMacLife.com from inside the SSE Arena, Gallagher discussed his attitude going into Saturday night’s fight at Bellator 173, why criticism doesn’t faze him and the main event slot that he’s yet to be granted.
