Dricus du Plessis certainly isn’t lacking confidence ahead of his maiden middleweight title defence Down Under this weekend.

The South African takes on Israel Adesanya in the UFC 305 main event in Perth, Australia on Saturday (or Sunday, depending on where you are in the world) and with the fight now just hours away, he has told the Aussie fans that he doesn’t believe that two-time champion Adesanya will survive past the end of the third round.

“Motivation, it’s easy,” Du Plessis told the UFC’s Megan Olivi at Thursday’s open workouts. “It’s not about anything else other than going out there and making my country proud, making myself, my team, proud doing what I know I can do.  That’s what it is when it comes to motivation.

“What am I most looking forward to? The ref dragging me off Israel Adesanya, who’s asking me, begging me, to stop. That’s what I’m looking forward to.”
