It looks like Conor McGregor has the itch to fight.

The Irishman has posted a brief but effective message to his social media this evening to reveal his intention to compete in July.

Earlier today, McGregor revealed he had some hesitation about fighting without a live crowd in attendance, but after watching UFC 249 felt there was value in doing so. He also said he believed he’d be meeting Justin Gaethje, the new interim lightweight champion next time he stepped foot in the Octagon.

“The fans make the sport! Watching the other night I was against going in without them. But it will be my fucking pleasure to display the power I possess with zero background noise for them. It’s me and Justin next as Khabib is the biggest bottle fighter in the game. Guarantee it,” McGregor wrote.

McGregor last fought in January against Donald Cerrone, which lasted just 40 seconds before he finished the contest. Last week, UFC president Dana White confirmed the pair had been talking about McGregor’s return, and said the much discussed Fight Island would likely be the venue.
