UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington has continued his war of words with NBA superstar LeBron James, just days after referencing the Los Angeles Lakers player in his post-fight interview moments after defeating Tyron Woodley by fifth-round TKO last Saturday night.

“Ladies and gentleman, the silent majority is ready to make some noise. If you thought that was a beating, wait till November 3 when Donald Trump gets his hands on sleepy Joe. That’s gonna be a landslide,” Covington said to UFC commentator Jon Anik in the wake of his victory.

“I want to dedicate this fight to all the first responders, all the military out there. This world would not be safe without you guys, you keep us safe, and not these woke athletes. I’m sick of these spineless cowards like LeBron James,” he continued.

James hit the headlines on Monday with what some people considered to be a thinly-veiled shot at Covington, when he said: “Anybody can talk from outside but if they got into the ring or got into the arena, probably 10 times out of 10, they’d shit their pants.”

It remain unclear if that was indeed a shot at Covington, but ‘Chaos’ appears to be taking it as such and took to Twitter to say that the 6ft 9in, 250lbs James wouldn’t last ‘ten seconds’ with him in the cage.

“LOL at the snowflakes that believe LeBron James could even last 10 seconds with me! If that coward had the balls or the ability to kick anyone’s ass, Delonte West would’ve lost his teeth long before his meth habit!” Covington tweeted, also referencing former NBA player West — a teammate of James’ at the Cleveland Cavaliers.
