The Nevada State Athletic Commission have handed out a punishment for Brock Lesnar’s failed drugs test at UFC 200.
The former heavyweight champion will pay a fine of $250,000 and will serve a 1 year suspension for his violations.
Lesnar had failed two USADA implemented tests for the estrogen blocker clomiphene in the lead up to his return bout in July, although the results were not revealed until a few days after his bout with Mark Hunt at UFC 200.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto was the first to report the punishment in detail.
While Lesnar has stayed fairly quiet on the entire issue, his legal team did offer the idea that the substance had entered his body unknowingly.
Should his suspension be retroactive (likely the case), then Lesnar will be eligible for a return next July. Should he want to, is as yet unknown.
