After a sellout event inside Dublin’s 3 Arena in February, Bellator MMA have confirmed their return to Irish shores.

Scott Coker’s promotion will hold the fourth event of their European Series inside the same arena on September 27th next. News of the event was confirmed at a media event in London on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s Bellator 223 card to be headlined by a 185lb matchup between champion Gegard Mousasi and BJJ ace Rafael Lovato Jr.

Ireland’s James Gallagher also competes on the card against Jeremiah Labiano, Charlie Ward faces Justin Moore while SBG fighter Frans Mlambo and John Redmond will also compete.

Gallagher will once again be a leading candidate to headline the card after doing so in the organisation’s last visit to Dublin, where he scythed through the challenge of American fighter Steven Graham midway through the first round, finishing by rear-naked choke.

Peter Queally, who was forced to withdraw from Saturday’s event in London through injury, has also targeted the September show for his return to action, while several other Irish fighters will be in contention to appear including the likes of Kiefer Crosbie, Pedro Carvalho and others.

The upcoming event will mark Bellator’s fourth Irish show to date. No bouts have yet been announced.
