It’s fair to say Michael Conlan did his boxing debut right.

Coming off a much hyped Olympic campaign, the young man from Northern Ireland made his entry into professional boxing with a win at Madison Square Garden in New York City — on St. Patrick’s Day no less — to a thunderous reception.

That experience was enhanced even further when Conor McGregor accepted an invitation to accompany him to the ring.

The Irishman is well known for supporting his own and here he made no exception, flying across the Atlantic to New York City, where he revisited the site he made history to give his countryman some pre-fight advice and support him from ringside.

In this video, you can see it all play out behind the scenes, as McGregor heads back to MSG — the arena where he became the only athlete to ever hold two UFC belts in two weight classes simultaneously — and gave the debuting Conlan some words of wisdom, before walking him out to the ring and watching the boxer get the TKO victory.
