Making weight is half of your job as a fighter, showing up and performing comes second.

Unfortunately for Kelvin Gastelum the order of his priorities seems to be jumbled, with the Welterweight failing to make weight yesterday for tonight’s bout with Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone on the main card at UFC 205.

Gastelum, who’s now missed weight for the division three times since 2014, has drawn the wrath of UFC president Dana White, who has claimed that he’ll never let Ultimate Fighter Season 17 winner fight at that weight class ever again.

Speaking to Fox, White said “I’ll never let him fight at 170 again.

“I think he missed this one by 10 pounds”.

It most certainly seems to be the end of Gastelum’s run at Welterweight, having failed to even show for the weigh-ins, which is a huge shame for “Mini Cain”, having made weight in his previous four fights, one of which saw him beat former champ Johnny Hendricks at UFC 200.
