A clash between two of Britain’s top welterweights looks set to top Bellator’s impending trip to the English capital next May, as per a report published by FloCombat.
Michael ‘Venom’ Page and Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley, two of the promotion’s top welterweights, look set to be announced as the headliners of the soon-to-be-announced card. A press release distributed by Bellator indicated that a press conference will be held in London next week where it is understood that Page and Daley will be revealed as the headliners.
Page (12-0) is undefeated in seven outings in Bellator while Daley holds a 4-1 record in the same promotion. Both fighters have recently scored vicious highlight reel flying knee finishes in Bellator (Page over Evangelista Santos and Daley over Brennan Ward) and given their recent form, this was clearly the fight to make in the organisation’s 170-pound fold as Coker attempts to build challengers to their current titleholder Douglas Lima.
The event is set to take place in the SSE Arena in London, though an exact date has yet to be announced.
