As much as many of us look forward to Christmas, it must also be noted that it is a very difficult time of the year for many.

This time of year can amplify feeling of loneliness for those who may be less fortunate than ourselves, particularly among those who aren’t in the position — financially or otherwise — to make the most of the season’s cheer. Santa Claus, of course, does his very best to visit children across the globe at Christmas but even St. Nick could use a helping hand from time to time.

Conor McGregor, and his partner Dee Devlin, donated €25,000 worth of toys to the charity ‘Inner City Helping Homeless’, with the items to be distributed among children in Ireland who may otherwise be facing a barren Christmas.

Noting the donation on social media, the charity group said:

“Thank you so much to @thenotoriousmma and @deedevlin1who kindly donated €25,000 of Smyths Toys vouchers to us to distribute to families at our Santa’s Grotto at the #FillanXmasTruck event and to families we supported in the run up to Christmas. We appreciate the kind donation of the vouchers and sponsoring the Santa’s Grotto allowing us to help make children’s Christmas more special. Happy Christmas everyone.”

McGregor has taken to Instagram on several occasions in recent days to give Christmas greetings to his legions of supporters across the globe. After a visit to Santa in Dublin, McGregor wrote, “Santa told us that Christmas is the season of love and understanding! To Love each other, and to Understand each other!

“It is all that matters! Merry Christmas everyone.”
