Uriah Hall vs. Vitor Belfort, the co-main event for Sunday’s UFC event in St. Louis, has officially been cancelled the promotion has announced.

Hall didn’t make it to the scales during Saturday’s early weigh-ins, casting the bout into doubt and it has since been confirmed by numerous sources that the bout has officially been removed from the card. The bout was intended to be the final contest of veteran fighter Vitor Belfort’s career.

The Brazilian made weight without incident.

The bout was to take place at 185-pounds and, with no other middleweight bout on the card, it is unlikely that UFC officials will be able to source a replacement fighter for Hall at such short notice. Vitor Belfort has yet to comment on the issue, or clarify if he intends to delay his retirement.

Every other fight on the card will go ahead as planned, despite prelim fighter Mads Burnell missing the featherweight limit by five pounds.

On Friday in an interview with MMAJunkie, Hall stated that his body “shut down” in the weeks leading up to the fight.
