Tyson Fury is getting the majority of love from gamblers as his mega-bucks fight with Anthony Joshua was put on paper this morning.

Joshua and Fury have agreed to a two-fight deal that will see them battle twice over the course of 2021 to unify boxing’s heavyweight titles. And while Joshua might have more world titles to his name, it’s Fury who’s being favoured by bettors in the immediate aftermath of the bouts announcement.

Fury can be found at 4/7 to win the contest on a wide variety of betting sites, with Joshua mostly found around 11/8.

Speaking to BoxingScene.com, OddsChecker spokesperson Kyle Newman revealed the large majority of cash has found it’s way to back Fury.

“Tyson Fury has seen a massive spike in bets placed on him since the two-fight deal has been announced,” Newman said. “Since the start of the year, 53% of bets had been placed on him to defeat Anthony Joshua. That’s jumped to 81%. It seems like Joshua is losing support from bettors and sportsbooks alike by the day. Joshua has won his last two fights though, so maybe he’s back to himself. There are few better in the ring than Joshua when he’s at his best. If he comes in at the top of his game, it’s going to be a war in the ring.”

Both men won their last outings, with Joshua repeatedly hurting Kubrat Pulev en route to victory in December, while Fury dismantled the hard-hitting Deontay Wilder last February in the best showing of his career.
