SBG Ireland’s Richie Smullen underlined his status as a top Irish MMA prospect with a first round victory over John Saville at Shinobi 10 on Saturday night.
Smullen, whose pro record shows two heel hook submission victories to his name, added a third with a dominant first round ground and pound finish in what was an emphatic performance, emphasising his status as one of the rising featherweight names in Ireland.

Smullen is considered one of Irish MMA’s brightest prospects. A 3-0 start to his professional career should mean that the SBG man gets a booking in one of the larger European shows such as BAMMA or Cage Warriors where competition will increase. As Smullen’s performance at Shinobi 10 on Saturday showed, though, he seems more than up for the challenge.
