Boxing vs. MMA might be in vogue, but that doesn’t mean everyone wants to take part.

In the wake of yesterday’s announcement that Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will box in August, a few other MMA fighters threw their names out as potential undercard participants.

While UFC president Dana White made it clear that August 26th mega-event will be a boxing only affair, a few mixed martial artists still tried their luck — including the UFC’s heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.

In the immediate aftermath of Mayweather versus McGregor being confirmed, Miocic took to his social media to call out boxing heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, and pitched the two to take part on the undercard.

“Hey [Joshua] let’s have a proper tussle and still have time for tea and crumpets before the main event!” he posted.

Well, unfortunately for Miocic, it doesn’t seem like Joshua is as interested to crossover as Mayweather was. In response to an Instagram post sharing Miocic’s call-out, Joshua simply commented with a phrase that’s become increasingly more popular recently.

Can’t blame a man for trying.
