Andy Ruiz Jr. believes Anthony Joshua could be up against it when he gets in the ring with Tyson Fury.

With a much-discussed unification bout between boxing’s two heavyweight champions apparently drawing closer, Ruiz was asked his opinion on the match-up. As the only man to hand Joshua a defeat, stunning though that it was, Ruiz’ opinion on the contest will likely garner attention during proceedings.

And while Ruiz isn’t quite committing one way or the other, he has to admit he wasn’t particularly enamoured with Joshua’s recent win over Kubrat Pulev, and believes Fury has skills his countryman doesn’t.

“I think it’s going to be an interesting fight. I fought Anthony Joshua, I haven’t fought Tyson Fury; he has a strange style, but I see Fury winning that fight …. I wasn’t impressed by Joshua’s last fight, but he managed to get the job done,” Ruiz said, speaking to Little Giant Boxing.

“Maybe Fury will beat him, it depends on how weird he moves, if he boxes… Anthony hasn’t fought someone who boxes, who moves around like that. We will see what happens.”

Ruiz has been out of action since his defeat to Joshua, a rematch from their first firefight, but is believed to be returning to the ring sometime in the next few months.
