Joe Rogan’s popular podcast has been forced into an indefinite hiatus after it was confirmed that a production member has been diagnosed with Covid-19.

Rogan and the podcast made headlines in recent months when he inked a multi-million dollar deal to distribute it via Spotify, in a move that was hailed by many as a game-changer for independent media. The show has continued to operate throughout the pandemic — but that came to an end when Rogan announced that the show was taking a break following the diagnosis.

Rogan also confirmed that he has tested negative, as have all other members of staff.

“Young @jamievernon tested positive for COVID-19,” Rogan wrote on Instagram along with a video message detailing the situation. “I tested negative, and the rest of the staff tested negative but we’re shutting everything down until we get an all clear from our doctor. I was out of town last week and the shows that aired had all been previously recorded, so I haven’t had any contact with Jamie in the past 9 days except for briefly today, but I’m staying away from everyone and being tested every day until I know I’m in the clear. I’ll keep you folks posted as to when the show will resume.”
