The ink is barely dry on Tyson Fury’s latest comeback announcement but the ‘Gypsy King’ has retired from professional boxing. Again.
Fury announced earlier this week that he was making a comeback to the sport four months after he retired following a KO win against Dillian Whyte to take on another Briton, Dereck Chisora, in a bid to become the only heavyweight champion in history to have fought in two separate trilogies.

But that comeback was a short-lived one. “Massive thanks to everyone who had an input in my career over the years & after long hard conversations Iv finaly decided to walk away & on my 34th birthday I say Bon voyage,” he wrote on social media. Massive shoutout to @parisfury1 who helped me more than anyone. & most of all thankyou God.. See you all on the other side you big dossers 2008-2022”.
Fury, who is still the WBC heavyweight champion, had been linked to a future bout against the winner of the Oleksandr Usyk vs. Anthony Joshua rematch on August 20 — which, to be fair, still might happen given the sheer volume of Fury’s recent flirtations with retirement.
For now though, and until informed otherwise, Tyson Fury steps away from the sport with an unbeaten record of 32-0-1.
