Tyson Fury will boast a weight advantage over British rival Dillian Whyte ahead of their world heavyweight championship fight in London’s Wembley Stadium on Saturday night.
Fury, the undefeated and lineal WBC heavyweight champion, tipped the scales at a 264-pounds at Friday afternoon’s weigh-in in London. Dillian Whyte, by comparison, came in at 253-pounds. The Gypsy King’s weight was 13 pounds lighter than the one he registered for his third fight with Deontay Wilder last year while the challenger was heavier by six pounds than in his last fight against Alexander Povetkin 13 months ago.
And hyping up the very partisan crowd ahead of tomorrow’s all-English affair, Fury said that fans should expect a back-and-forth war.
“You know what, you guys are f*cking unbelievable,” Fury bellowed. “I’m so happy to be back here fighting at Wembley Stadium and you people made it happen, everyone one of you made it happen. I just want to say a big shout-out, respect to Dillian Whyte and his team. Proper professional men and we’re gonna give you a f*cking real fight, don’t doubt us.
“We’re going to put a show on like no other before, it’s going to be a war, don’t worry about that.”
