Dan Hooker could well be set for another assault on the UFC’s featherweight division.
After revealing to The Mac Life’s Oscar Willis in recent days that he is considering taking the step down to the 145-pound weight class once more, the Kiwi fighter has completed a test weight cut and has posted the results to social media.

“45 look alive” wrote Hooker alongside the clip which shows him successfully hitting 146-pounds — a mark good enough for a non-title bout in the weight class currently ruled by Australia’s Alexander Volkanovksi.
This comes after Hooker explained his motivations for considering the move: “I’m doing a little something, something at the moment. You’ve got to make your next move your best move. Let’s just say I’m working with the UFC and the fight dietician very closely and I’m doing a test, a little test run. And we’ll see.”
Hooker was last seen in the cage in October where he was submitted in the first round by Islam Makhachev, a fight which meant that he has lost three of his past four in the UFC.
The new weigh class, if he makes the move permanently, won’t be much of a new thing for him after having fought several times at 145-pounds in the past — including his first six fights wit the UFC between 2014 and 2016.
