Uriah Hall is hitting his stride.
The Jamaican-born New Yorker was heralded as one of mixed martial arts’ brightest prospects when he exploded onto the scene with a sequence of stunning knockouts while a contestant on a season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’. Many will have noted, though, and perhaps even Hall himself, that this potential was not delivered upon initially.
He lost his finale bout on ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ to Kelvin Gastelum and saw the same as result, also a split decision loss, to John Howard next time around.
The corner began to be turned shortly after when he shone in a series of fights to go 5-1 in a two-year period, before dropping a trio of fights to the well-regarded Robert Whittaker, Derek Brunson and Gegard Mousasi — the latter of which was revenge for Hall’s stunning flying knee and punches KO win just over a year prior.
Since then Hall has again posted a 5-1 run and was most recently seen as being the other man in the cage when Chris Weidman broke his leg earlier this year — and will look to keep his run going when he faces the 22-3 Sean Strickland in the UFC Apex on Saturday night.
Before that, Hall scored the biggest box office win of his career when he stopped Anderson Silva in the fourth round of their fight last Halloween night. Check it out in full below:
