Jon Jones’ forthcoming heavyweight debut is one of the more interesting subplots as we progress through 2021, and the former longtime light heavyweight champion has provided yet more video evidence of his progress.
Jones is expected to face the winner of the upcoming heavyweight title clash between champion Stipe Miocic and the thunder-fisted Francis Ngannou at some point later this year but has been frequently providing updates of his preparation — and the latest one certainly shows Jones displaying a bigger frame, even if he says he isn’t quite happy with how light he is.

“More cardio means more food, back down to 245,” Jones wrote accompanying the footage.
In a prior video, Jones had suggested that his weight was somewhere north of 250 but implies above that the frequency of his cardio workouts in the gym have led to him dropping down to 245-pounds — some 40-pounds heavier than the weight he previously fought at. However, it is estimated that Jones’ ‘walking weight’ was somewhere around 220-225 throughout his light heavyweight career.
For reference, Stipe Miocic registered a weight of 233-pound for his latest fight against Daniel Cormier. Francis Ngannou, meanwhile, clocked in at a heavier 261.5 for his previous bout against Jairzinho Rozenstruik — and it seems that Jones’ time in the weight room guarantees that he will look anything but undersized when he finally makes his heavyweight bow.
